Bainbridge State College (once known as just Bainbridge College) has provided two-year and four-year educational programs to the residents of Southwest Georgia as well as commuters from neighboring Florida since 1970. It’s among the fastest-growing colleges in Georgia, having seen its enrollment increase by more than half in just the past five years to more than 4,000 students today (Spring term 2016). Coursework across its two schools (of Arts & Sciences and the Health Sciences) covers agribusiness, art appreciation, computer systems, geography, music, practical nursing, and many other dynamic and intriguing fields. All Bainbridge students take an important First Year Experience course, designed to ensure a smooth transition to the college experience, initiate on-campus connections, and enhance study skills. Other unique opportunities even include study-abroad programs that send students to such exotic locations as Costa Rica and Scotland! But Bainbridge is about more than just hitting the books: on-campus organizations range from a film club and choral ensemble to several honors societies such as Phi Theta Kappa. Bainbridge State College is the Southeast’s anchor of collegiate excellence!
