Year after year, the Birmingham extension of Brown Mackie College proves its commitment to both its alumni and surrounding Alabama communities, via service and assistance. It provides small class sizes and both associate’s and bachelor’s degree programs in such fields as graphic design, medical assistance, and paralegal studies. It knows, though that life goes on well after the classroom; BMC-B hosts numerous career days and stays in touch with alumni through social media, often on a first-name basis. In September 2014, it also coordinated the inaugural Homewood Rib Run, a 5K fundraiser to benefit the Lakeshore Foundation, a prominent charity that helps sufferers of physical disabilities to live better lives. And like at the other BMC branches, students take only one course at a time, each lasting one month, allowing them to better balance academic responsibility with a family or even a full-time job. A shining example of pioneering spirit, BMC-B makes its students excited to face the world!
