Established in 1849, Central Connecticut State University is a public university located in New Britain, Connecticut. It is the oldest public university in the state of Connecticut. IT is a large university with more than 12,000 students enrolled annually. The college offers bachelor’s, masters and doctoral programs, with the business, social sciences, and education courses being the more popular majors among undergrads. The Honors Program at CCSU has been rated as ‘absolutely outstanding’ by the Princeton Review. Student activities include athletics (interestingly named as the Blue Devils!), clubs & organisations catering to several hobbies, student managed publications and media stations, and student government opportunities. Notable alumni from CCSU include Kenny Johnson, Walter Eli Clark, and Ebenezer D. Bassett.
