LaGuardia Community College, established in 1968, is a two-year community college located in Long Island City, Queens, New York. It has over 17,500 undergraduate students, providing education, training, special services and cultural activities for the community at large. It’s the third largest community college within the City College of New York system and made up of a diverse student body. The Red Hawks have a basketball team that’s fun to cheer on. Notable alumni include poet, author & holocaust survivor Elly Gross and former Deputy Mayor Rudy Washington. The college acts as a well-rounded beginning to real world and higher learning opportunities.
