Hofstra University, established in 1935, is a private not-for-profit institution of higher learning. It is home to over 6,800 undergraduates and its main campus is located in the village of Hempstead, New York. The campus has over 200 student organizations, including club sports and a sizeable Greek scene. It is beautiful in Spring, with tulips in full bloom and distinctive species of trees that are a wonder to walk past. Students may either opt for dorm life or join a themed living community. They can cheer on the Hofstra Pride in home games at the Hofstra stadium! Notable Hofstra alumni include actor James Caan and actress Rosemarie DeWitt.
