Since 1967, Kettering College, found just outside Dayton, Ohio, has provided challenging associate’s and bachelor’s degree programs in health-related fields like diagnostic sonography and imaging technology. Its association with the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, and the values they uphold, instills in its 700 students the will to make a difference and the compassion and desire to serve the surrounding community. Those students who have completed 100 hours of such service and who hold a 3.0 GPA, in fact, can participate in the prestigious Vaughan-Beaven Service Learning Honors Program, earning special merit at graduation. When stressed, however, any student can just turn to the department of Student Life for a temporary diversion; special social events here have included rock climbing, karaoke, and trips to nearby water parks and museums. What’s more, the multi-level comprehensive library and a campus-wide wireless network grant access to a wealth of information and advanced technology. Kettering College truly combines all the best aspects of an ideal spiritual journey with the education to make an impact in the greater world.
