Lock Haven University, found in the Pennsylvania town of the same name, serves about 5,500 students and offers over 70 programs of study at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Distinctive majors here include geology, nanotechnology, sports administration and disability community services. Prominent campus landmarks include the Robinson Hall Learning Resource Center, the comprehensive Stevenson Library (complete with a children’s library in the lower level), and the regionally famous Fredericks Family Memorial Carillon. Media are especially popular at LHU; locally-produced television and radio shows and student newspaper “The Eagle Eye” constantly keep the locals up-to-date as to what’s happening around the area. Staff are always on hand to help with academic advisement, personal counseling, and health and disability services, and they take special pride in LHU’s Global Honors Program, which connects talented students with service-learning opportunities around the world. Unique extracurricular activities here include fencing club, a Quidditch team, Campus Crusade for Christ and No Label Royalty, a group devoted to learning the latest in fashion and design.
