You can tell big things are happening at Resurrection University: their 2013 move to the heart of Chicago’s Wicker Park came with a drastic upgrade of their capabilities and technology, including 37,700 square feet of brand-new offices and classrooms and an advanced simulation-learning center. They’re also proud of their students, requiring a 2.75 high school GPA just for admission to their undergraduate nursing, radiography and HIIM programs. RN-to-MSN, Nurse Educator and Nurse Practitioner degrees are also available at the graduate level. ResU students reach out to the surrounding community via a service-learning-based philosophy; the Student Nurse Association (RUSNA) has conducted charity walks for AIDS awareness, provided first aid at local triathlons, and helped coordinate a health screening day at a local church. And what these students give, they get back: ResU’s Academic Center for Excellence provides free career-development advice and tutoring when life gets challenging. It all goes to show that with the help of Resurrection University, anyone can rise again from the ashes of a poorly-educated past!
