Rich Mountain Community College in Mena, Arkansas and its four satellite campuses have served about 600 students from three surrounding counties per year since 1975. In addition to being fully accredited, it was recognized by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools as a “model rural community college” in 2005. Students here pursue A.A. or A.A.S. degrees as well as technical certificates in such areas as database management, culinary arts, computer maintenance and office technology. Articulation agreements allow seamless transfer of credits earned at RMCC to many regional four-year universities; Southern Arkansas University’s B.S. programs in Early Childhood Education and Agriculture are popular examples. Campus resources span two science labs, a 150-unit computer lab, four distance learning classrooms and even a Cessna 172P airplane! Campus life is vibrant, too: special-interest organizations like the Rich Mountain Video Team and a club specifically for senior learners thrive at RMCC. And the financial aid staff is devoted to helping students afford a quality education, having granted more than $2.4 million in financial aid in the 2014-15 academic year alone. Rich Mountain Community College – securing futures, today and for all time!
