Saint Luke’s College of Health Sciences in Kansas City, Missouri has been closely affiliated with Saint Luke’s Hospital since its inception as a hospital department in 1903, but since 2010 has been serving nursing students as a stand-alone educational institution. Their MSN program incorporates an Adult-Gerontology track as well as a Nurse Educator track of coursework, and in the fall of 2015 Saint Luke’s introduced a brand-new RN-BSN track. Students here gain hands-on experience in the field within a 39,000-square-foot main building and simulation center, complete with birthing room, control rooms and a ten-bed skills-focused laboratory. Saint Luke’s seven mission values, including accountability, integrity, professionalism and respect, drive its academics. And that shows in their students’ commitment to improving the surrounding community: they’ve organized local blood drives, clothing drives, and an Operation Breakthrough Bus Tour within just the past few years alone. Fully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, Saint Luke’s also coordinates a Student Success Center and offers several forms of financial aid to those who qualify. In the growing and ever-changing field of healthcare, Saint Luke’s is rock of stability that you can trust!
