Named after Dr. Lyle Sherman in 1973, The Sherman College of Chiropractic in Spartanburg, South Carolina, prepares 450 students per year from more than a dozen countries to become the best chiropractors they can be. It forsakes the “mixed” focus of other chiropractic schools (they are often more centered upon treating symptoms than upon adjustment techniques for the neck and back) in favor of “straight” focus. Its fourteen-quarter program provides both classroom and hands-on instruction as well as a professional internship in the Chiropractic Health Center, which is open to the public and sees about 30,000 patients per year. The Center’s powerful digital radiography technology, furthermore, allows students to detect problems and diagnose patients in ways traditional film cannot. SCC offers a full slate of scholarships, loans, work-study and other financial aid (which over 98% of students receive some form of) and is designated a military-friendly school, as an active participant in the Yellow Ribbon program. Sherman College of Chiropractic is, in its own words, truly “adjusting the world for a better future!”
