St. John’s University, founded in 1870, is a private university with over 15,000 undergraduates. It has campuses in Queens, Staten Island and Manhattan, New York City. It’s a Roman Catholic university that opens doors to students from different faiths. Students can join any of more than 150 organizations, including service organizations such as St. John’s Bread & Life or service ministries. The campus is home to strong media groups and performing arts organizations. A majority of the Red Storms sports teams compete in Division I, including its competitive basketball team!
