Texas A&M University, established in 1876, is a public research university located in College Station, Texas. It has approximately 50,000 undergraduates and one of the largest campuses in the country. A railroad track separates the Main Campus from the West Campus; the latter including a Research Park equipped with top-notch facilities. Students have over 800 clubs and organizations to choose from, and nearly 10% participate in Greek life. The university’s intramural sports league program (which includes quidditch!) is also one of the largest in the nation. It has a well-equipped recreational center and one of the best football teams in the country. It also hosts The Big Event, a huge student-run single-day community service effort. Notable A&M alumni include country singer-songwriter Lyle Lovett and former Miss USA Kandance Krueger. With one of the largest and strongest alumni networks in the nation, it’s great to be an Aggie.
