The University of California-San Diego, established in 1960, is a public research university located in the picturesque neighborhood of La Jolla in San Diego, California. It has over 26,500 undergraduates, with actor, writer, director & producer Mike Judge and actor Robert Buckley among its notable alumni. The university is well known for its International House where 350 students from around 30 nationalities live and learn. It also has numerous student organizations and a sizeable Greek life, giving them a number of options to explore. It has wonderful displays of art around campus and its biggest tradition, the Sun God, has the best line-up of artists. La Jolla weather and beaches also make it easy to get out there (with a surfboard), participate in midnight bonfires and kayaking adventures. UCSD, with its wonderful academic programs and drop-dead-gorgeous sunsets, makes for a great learning environment.
