University of Central Florida is one of the newer public research universities, founded in 1963. It’s the nation’s second largest university, with an intake of over 50,000 undergraduate students. Cheryl Hines and Blake Bortles are alumni of this spirited school. It’s located in sunny Orlando, not very far away from the amusement park excitement and the beach and bar scene. The campus by itself is beautiful, home to a diverse student population and a variety of clubs, programs and fun events. Since it’s a more recently established university, the technology and buildings are fairly new. Students also benefit from the number of internships, experiences and professional connections they are privy to just by living in Orlando! Being a large university works in UCF’s favor, giving students greater opportunity to foster lifetime friendships.
