University of Florida is a public research university founded in 1853. It has over 30,000 undergrad students and its campus is in Gainesville, Florida. Great weather is a give here, as is its beautiful campus and friendly and varied campus life. It’s one of the “public ivies”, offering plenty of research opportunities. It makes no compromises on the social scene either, with events such as Gator Crawl and the charity-driven Relay for Life and Dance Marathon! School spirit is at its peak during game days, as University of Florida has one of the best college football teams! Tim Tebow, one of the greatest footballers of recent times, graduated from here. Just as impressive is its newspaper, which is the largest student-run newspaper in the country. It is home to a bat house, a potato and French fries statue; quirky additions that add to the campus’s character. UF is also where Gatorade came from. With its enriching academic and social scene, it is great to be a Gator in every way.
