The University of Toledo, a public research institution found in the Ohio town of the same name, offers over 23,000 students several hundred academic programs across two dozen distinct colleges. Although large, it maintains a 19-to-1 student-to-faculty ratio, and offers individual services like career counseling and tutoring. Many programs are available entirely online, and on-campus academic centers include an innovative polymer institute and the Wright Center for Photovoltaics Innovation. Student organizations here range from the Ballroom Dance Society and a fencing club to the Society of Women Engineers and lots of academic honor groups And UT students know how to contribute to the surrounding community, too; annual dance fundraiser Rockethon has raised over half a million dollars in donations to Mercy Children’s Hospital since 2001. The University of Toledo—helping the futures of thousands blast off into the stratosphere since 1872!
