KPMG’s Master’s Program Provides An Unparalleled Experience

If you’re an accounting student, then you’ve probably heard of KPMG but have you heard about the KPMG Master of Accounting with Data & Analytics Program (MADA)?

KPMG is one of the most prestigious employers for top-tier accounting students, known for state-of-the-art training and development programs. They even ranked first on the WayUp Top 100 Internship Programs list last year.

But they’re also offering something else to top accounting students: the opportunity to receive a funded master’s degree that emphasizes data and analytics from a leading university. In addition to tuition funding and a stipend towards room and board, participants in KPMG’s Master Program will receive a paid spring semester internship and a full-time job when they graduate.

To get a full picture of this first of its kind program—and what type of student is the right fit—we sat down with Amy, a Campus Recruiter at KPMG for the MADA program.

What Is The MADA Program?

The program is an opportunity to pursue a masters in accounting or tax with a special focus on data and analytics—funded by KPMG. You’ll simultaneously earn 30 semester credits toward CPA license eligibility and gain critical D&A skills

Understanding data and analytics is essential for future CPAs and leaders at KPMG, Amy says. “These are skills that our employees will need to have, and the people who go through this program will come to KPMG with those skills ready to hit the ground running. It’ll give them a jump-start when they begin their career,” she says.

How Does The Program Work?

The competitive program takes grads with a proven track record of academic success in an accounting program and gives them the opportunity to attend a one-year master’s degree program in accounting or taxation with data and analytics at leading schools across the U.S. like Villanova University and Arizona State University.

Another amazing perk? KPMG takes care of tuition and provides a cost-of-living stipend to help cover expenses like room and board, so that you can focus on your studies.

You’ll also have the opportunity to participate in a paid spring semester internship at KPMG. This allows you to earn money and prepare for the full-time role you’ll start after graduation.

Who’s Right For The MADA Program?

While many of the program’s past participants have been former KPMG interns, the MADA program is open to any accounting (or accounting equivalent) majors who excel in school and love all things tech-related.

“We look for someone with a healthy GPA, because we want them to be able to withstand the rigors of this program,” Amy says. “But we also want them to be interested in technology—the application of ‘data and analytics’ should be appealing to them.”

At its core, the program is an excellent opportunity to jumpstart your career, Amy stresses.

“When they start, program participants join KPMG as an Experienced Associates,” she says. “If they excel, they could be on track to reach a manager position in only four years.”

Free tuition? Fast track to leadership? Future-proof technology skills? That’s just the beginning of what the KPMG Master of Accounting with Data and Analytics Program can do for you.
