Each Kindergarten, 1st, or 2nd Grade Teacher serves as the lead master teacher for one class of students. Though teachers must be adept at teaching the range of subject areas, strong experience with literacy instruction is critical. TEP Early Childhood and Elementary classrooms utilize the Core Knowledge Language Arts literacy curriculum. Note that experience with this curriculum is not required. This position requires a minimum of 2 years of lead teaching experience in Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Grade.

Master Teacher Positions: Each Master Middle School Teacher listed below is paid a $125,000 annual salary, has the opportunity to earn an annual bonus, and receives a full benefits package. Each position requires a minimum of 3 years of lead teaching experience, at least 2 of which must have been in 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th or 9th grade classrooms. Each TEP middle school teacher teaches one subject to one grade level in any given year (e.g. 6th grade Science). However, TEP teachers may switch grade levels and/or subjects from one year to the next.

TEP contributes towards the cost of medical, dental, and vision coverage for an employee's family. TEP has a 403b (similar to a 401K) retirement plan for employees. A 403b is a tax-deferred retirement plan available to employees of educational non-profits.

Originally a 5th through 8th grade middle school, TEP now also serves students in Kindergarten, 1st grade and 2nd grade, and will soon be adding Pre-K, 3rd, and 4th grades. TEP will serve 1200 students at full capacity, from Pre-K through 8th grade.

TEP's mission is to achieve educational equity for disadvantaged students by utilizing master teachers to provide rigorous academics, arts, and athletics instruction. TEP reallocates the public funding it receives as a charter school to pay its teaching professionals an annual salary of $125,000, with the opportunity to earn a significant performance bonus.
