Job Description

Experian’s Summer Internship Program is a unique opportunity for students across the country to gain hands-on work experience in our innovative global company. Our interns work alongside Experian employees to tackle meaningful projects and gain valuable skills in their chosen field. Responsibilities of the Data Analyst Intern include:

• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends and patterns in consumer credit data to help make business decisions.

• Design new analytical workflows and/or optimize existing workflows with the goal to automate report generation and enable self-service analytics. 

• Analyzing large datasets using Alteryx, SQL and Python

• Design and build innovative data and analytics solutions, visuals, metrics and KPIs

• Summarize and present the results of analysis using Excel and data visualization tools.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree program in Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics or related degree

• Be returning to school in the Fall of 2023 to complete degree program

• Expert knowledge of SQL and one of databases - SQL server, Vertica, MySQL, DB2

• Experience or familiarity with BI tools like Tableau/Qlik/Power BI and MS Office tools is a plus

• Knowledge of data modeling, machine learning and tools like Python, Spark, Hive is desirable

• Knowledge of consumer credit or financial industry preferred

• Strong communication skills, who can express complex concepts and ideas in a simple manner (written, presentation and verbal)

• Strong analytical mind-set. Able to synthesize complex data and produce actionable insights

• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

• Flare for working with large datasets

• Flexible and enjoys working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and a fun team environment
