Each athletic counselor is hired to teach a specific sport based on their experience and qualifications. Most have played at the high school and/or college level and many have previous coaching experience. Coaches will help boys ages 7 to 15 learn the basics of a specific sport.
In addition to teaching 3 to 4 classes a day, male counselors live in bunks with campers and female counselors serve as "bunk moms" to younger kids.
Coach's will help the boys learn the basics of handling the puck, passing, playing offense and defense, and shooting.
For proficient skaters, our night roller hockey league provides an opportunity for more advanced gameplay. Coach's will manage games, practices and travel teams. Camp Takajo's high school size regulation rink has lights, ideal for late night outdoor hockey games.
Camp Takajo is a premiere, traditional summer camp for boys. We offer a variety of activities in land sports, watersports, fine arts and outdoor education.
