    YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

    As an ASSEMBLY MANUFACTURING ENGINEER for John Deere in Dubuque, IA, you will support the production of Utility Crawlers and PDP growth projects in our product lines. The incumbent will work in teams of Manufacturing Engineers to provide all the technical assistance, standards, work instructions, mistake proofing and other expertise needed for a particular section of the lines. In addition, they will:

    • Contribute to the following activities; new model program needs such as facility changes, plan for every part tooling requirement, design for manufacturing, supporting physical builds and start of production with a manufacturing execution system (AMES), Operator Method Sheets (OMS) and Wplanner documentation
    • Plan, coordinate and complete manufacturing engineering work for moderate scope projects that requires leadership with other departments and outside contractors
    • Support the natural work group through Continuous Improvement projects to deliver on safety, quality and efficiency goals

    WHAT SKILLS YOU NEED

    We need an excellent communicator, both written and verbal, who thrives on solving problems and working in a global team environment.

    • Manufacturing engineering experience supporting assembly operations of similar products 
    • Experience with Microsoft Office software; Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
    • Experience in Wplanner

    WHAT MAKES YOU STAND OUT

    Other areas of experience or interest that will help us place you on the right team include:

    • Familiarity with reliability, design, manufacturing and quality 
    • Knowledge of the principles of work measurement 
    • Experience with VisMockup 
    • Knowledge of engineering specifications and part routings 
    • Experience with Lean/Continuous Improvement principles within manufacturing
    • Experience with SAP
    • Experience with mistake-proofing
    • Experience with Assembly Operations in a heavy equipment industry

     

    EDUCATION (OR EQUIVALENT WORK EXPERIENCE)

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Manufacturing Technology or similar discipline 
    • An advanced degree such as a Master's degree
