  • Responsibilities

    John Deere has an office at the Ames ISU Research Park, with IT Early Development Program (EDP) positions open within the area of Cyber Security.  The IT EDP is for new or recent graduates in Information Assurance/Cyber Security, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related degree.

    • The IT Cybersecurity EDP is a two year rotational program through which new or recent college graduates are recruited to build cyber security skills that are essential to future business growth and needs.
    • Is the primary entrance point for entry-level positions in cyber security positions at John Deere.
    • Builds a solid foundation of cyber security knowledge at John Deere through two meaningful 12-month rotations

    YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The program rotates through Deere’s Vulnerability Management and Cloud Security teams. Responsibilities will vary during the rotation, but will include the following:

    • Analyze the results of Vulnerability Scans, assess criticality, and define priority and SLA.
    • Provide expertise to Application Owners to help them understand individual issues, and provide guidance in remediation when required.
    • Assist in the development of new scans and security tests such as authenticated scans, penetration testing, etc., as needed per the Vulnerability Management Process.
    • Work on various projects for the team or in other areas of Cyber Security.
    • Design, Build, and manage cloud security controls and processes (primarily using Python and Amazon Web Services processes).

    WHAT SKILLS YOU NEED

    • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Information Assurance, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related degree
    • Desired cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Minimum cumulative GPA required of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale.
    • Good communication skills, both written and oral.
    • Ability to travel domestically up to 15%.
    • Work in the Ames office
