    Supply Management professionals at John Deere have a variety of career opportunities including operational support (order fulfillment process), cost management, logistics, strategic sourcing, supplier development, product delivery process and new product development. Assignments like these will let you demonstrate your capabilities while contributing directly to the company's strategies and initiatives. In each assignment, you will work to meet specific objectives, demonstrate your knowledge and skills, and maintain a training regimen that develops the competencies you will need for world-class supply management.

    Supply Management Position Duties may include:

    • Execute Order Fulfillment Process (OFP) with cost reduction activities, analyzing quotations, and make supplier selection based on criteria such as quality, cost, process capability, lead time and supplier stability.
    • Support the Engineering Change Management (ECM) process so design changes and product improvements are implemented in a timely and cost-effective manner.
    • Develop and executes inventory plans to achieve inventory/asset management and material flow goals.
    • Resolve shipping, receiving, invoicing and payment problems to ensure prompt and accurate payments to suppliers.
    • Define, resolve and provide permanent solutions to supplier performance issues with the assistance of other functional representatives such as quality, product engineering, etc., while managing day-to-day supplier relationship issues, thereby assuring proper communication occurs.
    • Participates in the implementation of resourcing activities and make versus buy decisions.
    • Collects industry data and performs limited supplier/industry analysis; makes recommendations for a course of action based on findings.
    • Drives continuous improvement in terms of performance and lowest total cost with the Supply Base utilizing Achieving Excellence process and criteria.
    • Gathers and analyzes data to ensure business objectives are being met.
    • Acts as a resource for company or factory logistics groups, unit operations, and suppliers as problems, questions, and concerns arise regarding logistical processes.

    Requirements

    • Pursuing a Bachelors or Master’s degree in Supply Management, Production Operation Management, Distribution Management, Production Planning, Purchasing, Transportation/Logistics, or related degree. Industrial Engineering or related discipline
    • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale required.
    • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and factory operations.
    • Knowledge of products, customers, markets, and competitors.
    • Knowledge of supply management systems, processes, and practices.
    • Ability to gather and analyze data. (technical abilities)
    • Willing to travel and relocate to any John Deere location in the U.S. Locations may include:
    • Must be able to relocate domestically. Assignments can be at various locations throughout the United States.
