  • Responsibilities

    UPS is seeking a dynamic Finance Intern to gain first-hand experience in enhancing an enterprise-level finance department with current Business Intelligence technologies. He/She will be directly responsible for improvements in our established processes, as well as active collaborators in our ongoing development of SQL-based models. Additionally, he/she will have the opportunity to learn/develop skills with SQL databases, advanced Excel functionality (PowerPivot) and Microsoft Power BI Dashboards.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

    • Updates old reports with current technologies (SQL, PowerPivot, etc.) to reduce runtime and improve accuracy
    • Learns and documents UPS freight forwarding business knowledge to facilitate cross training and solidify knowledge base of the team
    • Creates automated reports for SQL models to check for data integrity and accurate results

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

    • Must be a rising college junior or senior, or recent graduate within the last 24 months
    • Strong spreadsheet and database skills
    • Strong financial and analytical skills
    • Ability to learn and apply new concepts/skills quickly
    • Ability to work in a team-focused work environment
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Experience pulling data from SQL databases
    • Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
    • Majoring in an analytical field (ex. Math, Industrial Engineering, Economics etc.) - Preferred
    • Able to work 30 to 40 hours per week - Preferred
