    The Marketing Technology Specialist supports the activities and objectives of the Technology Marketing group. He/she helps develop and maintain content and graphics for the company’s public-facing websites using HTML and Photoshop, so a strong content development and graphic design background are essential. This position assists with ad hoc requests and projects to support department and business objectives. This position also supports our franchisees by monitoring Local Listings and Google Analytics. The Marketing Technology Specialist also monitors and evaluates competitive information sources and research to support competitive analysis.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

    • Supports different marketing tools and platforms (e.g., websites, email marketing, directory listings, marketing automation, etc.) by creating original content, designing graphics, coordinating with Marketing team members and responding to franchisee inquiries
    • Works with internal stakeholders and third-parties (e.g., vendors, agencies, franchise owners, etc.) in product/program support activities such as in-person training, webinar development, training material creation, communications and performance reporting
    • Designs, develops and maintains website landing pages, content, and creative assets to ensure information is readily accessible, accurate, and consistent with The UPS Store brand guidelines
    • Performs research on competitor’s activities and strategies, identifying areas where The UPS Store may be at a competitive disadvantage in the digital marketing space and suggest ideas for improving the situation
    • Develops and creates HTML content and graphic components for a variety of marketing platforms to provide accurate and timely information, optimizing for targeted and relevant keywords
    • Helps maintains The UPS Store location data integrity to ensure data is consistent, certified, and reconcilable
    • Maintains relationships with vendors and internal systems resources to ensure smooth operations of the websites
    • Assists with the assembly of monthly website analytics information to assist in analyzing The UPS Store digital performance in organic and local search
    • Supports team in development and management of project plans, budgets, schedules, business and technical documentation, communications, training, analytics, and reporting, etc.

    • Applies Information Analysis & Solution Generation Knowledge: Familiar with primary information sources relevant to assigned area; utilizes computer-based analytical and information management tools in order to perform routine analysis; documents approach and findings; reviews results with others as appropriate
    • Applies Knowledge of Segmenting and Targeting: Demonstrates understanding of the purpose, benefits, and alternative methods of segmenting markets; analyzes current customer performance and market potential of defined segments; able to define the purpose, benefits and differences between value statements and value propositions
    • Applies Problem Definition & Structuring Knowledge: Identifies key factors behind basic problems and establishes a path to solve them; proposes approaches to solve more complicated problems; investigates and diagnoses anomalies in routine business results
    • Conducts Competitive Analysis: Demonstrates a basic understanding of competitors’ tactics, product/service offerings, and strategies; translates competitor performance and actions into implications for UPS
    • Technology Knowledge: Demonstrates a general understanding of technology used by the company; communicates basic technological concepts and terminology; applies standard technology in daily work
    • Excellent English spelling, grammar and writing composition skills are a must
    • Ability to effectively communicate with others
    • Possesses excellent time management and organizational skills
    • Intermediate HTML & CSS skills 
    • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite products or similar software
    • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite products (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) or similar software
    • Some experience using a Content Management System (CMS)
    • Basic graphic design and typographic theory experience
    • Bachelor’s Degree (or internationally comparable degree) in Marketing or Business Administration - Preferred
