The Accounting Rookie will assist in executing the vision for global accounting compliance and will interact directly with controllership, financial reporting and other functions within the accounting and finance department. This resource will support the month end close process and be responsible for various analyses and reports for the growing organization. The individual will also maintain and control general ledger accounts and ensure that transactions are accounted for in accordance with US GAAP.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Preparation of various balance sheet account reconciliations
• Preparation of standard and non-standard journal entries for the month-end close process
• Ownership of accounting for such accounts as fixed assets, prepaid expenses, accrued expenses and other balance sheet areas
• Support retail sales and cash reconciliation processes and quarterly/year-end financials
• Administration of account reconciliation and journal entry approval software
• Ensure that all financial deadlines are met for month-, quarter- and year-end financial closings
• Prepare and review materials for the global accounting close meeting and other internal reports
• Assist initiatives to improve and optimize the global accounting close process
• Partner with and assist the finance team in short-term and long-term budgeting and forecasting
• Assist with ad hoc analysis and reporting in support of Controllership

Education and/or Experience

• BS in Accounting candidate with expected graduation in 2022
• CPA-track candidate
• Previous accounting experience/internships
