  • Responsibilities

    FTI is looking for a paid Information Technology Intern to join our team during the summer of 2023. Qualified interns must be actively enrolled in a STEM discipline. This position will be filled through the Lavon Jordan Internship program. The Lavon Jordan Internship celebrates diversity and aims to foster an inclusive workforce that reflects the diverse communities in which we do business. FTI hopes to provide career opportunities and development to historically underrepresented individuals to support and foster the next generation of diverse leaders in the information technology business field.  This internship awards interns both full-time or part-time flexibility, competitive compensation, and an Intern Featured overview on FTI’s LinkedIn page. This position will be filled in Dayton, OH.

    Responsibilities Include:

    • Work with a talented team of IT administrators, network analysts, and cyber architects to ensure that IT delivery and support is second to none.
    • Work with team to install, configure, and support the organization's networks.
    • Help team manage firewalls and hardware.
    • Help monitor network performance, conduct analysis / testing, and ensure secure and reliable operation.
    • Support Windows Server and RedHat Linux Systems
    • Support team in managing firewall and backup solutions, resolving connectivity issues and service disruptions, testing the network for weakness.
    • Conduct research into IT issues and present ideas.
    • Provide technical support.
  • Qualifications
    • Good interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of management. 
    • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently. 
    • Exposure of Linux and Windows systems and intermediate level understanding of computer hardware components.
    • Must be a U.S. citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance. 
    • Must be a Junior or Senior pursing a bachelors or master’s degree from an accredited institution in a STEM discipline (Information Systems, IT, or another related field)
    • Be an individual from historically underrepresented populations; including, but not limited to minorities, women, persons who identify as LGBTQ+, and persons with disabilities.
