2026 Public Health Internships in Texas

Want to serve your community and gain some valuable experience while you’re at it? Public health internships are a great way to get involved in policy, research, finance, and more! As an intern in public health you could work for large national organizations such as the American Red Cross, international groups like the World Health Organization, or local programs administered by your city, county, or state. An internship in public health is a great foot in the door to a variety of careers. If you are interested in medicine and intrigued by the ever-changing state of health care try researching a public health nurse internship. However, public health interns do not need to be focused on practicing medicine. The National Partnership for Women and Families offer internships that range from health policy to communications. According to the U.S. Department of Health, health care is projected to create 3.2 million jobs by 2018. With such a growth rate in the industry, one summer as an intern in public health can lead to a very steady career. Take your time to research the space, identify what skills you want to gain, and carefully choose from the thousands of organizations devoted to public health.
