What Percent Of WayUp's Userbase Are STEM Majors?

At WayUp, we love helping employers hire top, diverse talent. Since 2014, we’ve been helping companies—like Clorox, L'Oréal, and Bloomberg—attract and hire diverse and qualified early-career talent virtually. From D&I Analytics Dashboards to Automated Concierge Sourcing to employment branding, we’re the number one leader in virtual D&I recruitment solutions.

Many of our Employer Partners use WayUp to recruit diverse STEM talent, so we thought we’d dive into a question we get a lot:

What percentage of WayUp’s userbase includes STEM majors?

WayUp’s employer partners can target the students whose educational profiles best match the role they’re looking for—including STEM talent. Overall, 37% of our sourceable users have “STEM” (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) majors.

Of STEM talent on WayUp’s userbase, 33% of these are Computer Science majors.

For context, 71% of WayUp’s users self-identify as Black, Hispanic, Mixed, or female. More specifically, 36% are Black, Hispanic, or Mixed, and 59% are female. And, in 2020, applicants who applied for tech positions from WayUp were (on average):

  • 45% were Black or Hispanic
  • 45% were female
